Treating
the structure in framing stage of building with an octaborate solution
is one of the most effective ways to preserve and protect a wood structure
from fungus, carpenter ants, termites and other wood-destroying organisms
in a less toxic manner.
Octaborates are designed to penetrate and protect
all types of wood, including plywood, composites and engineered
building products. Wood treatment will not effect painting, staining
or gluing of the wood. Fasteners made of steel and other ferrous
metals should last longer in borate-treated wood.
Boron (the active ingredient in all octaborates)
is a common element that is toxic to many insects, decay fungi and
some forms of bacteria. Borate treatment is suitable for new and
existing construction.
Whenever Northwest Termite performs a "pre-construction"
soil treatment or "Framing stage" borate treatment all
materials are applied at a rate consistent with the label instructions
and are not harmful to humans or animals. The label instructions
will always be included with your report and estimate.
